How To Incorporate Fall Colors Into Your Wedding Day

The best fall weddings take color cues from Mother Nature.

Alex Gowin and Ryan Renteria make it their mission to find the best espresso martini wherever they travel, so serving their favorite drink at their wedding was a no-brainer. If you’re going for autumnal shades, the coffee-based cocktail is sure to satisfy not only your palate but your color palette as well. “With the Pantone color for 2025 being ‘Mocha Mousse,’ it’s safe to say that this color tone complements the fall wedding season beautifully,” says wedding planner Cystal Frasier of Crystal Frasier Weddings.

Notes of Fall

Let Bailie Sureddin and Jordan Cagigal’s invitations be the push you’ve been needing to personalize your paper pieces. Their autumn-toned suite by XOWyo Paper + Press was filled with nods to the couple’s love story as well as to their wedding location. “We wanted our invitation suite to highlight the fun Western vibes of Fort Worth but remain classic and timeless,” says the bride. The scheme was carried through to the wedding’s tablescapes, florals, and bridesmaids’ dresses.

Throwing Shade

Lexi Burbidge and Matt Guerin wanted their wedding to feel like a sepia-toned photograph, so brown bridesmaids dresses were a natural choice. “For an outdoor fall wedding, it felt seasonally perfect—warm and earthy without leaning too heavily into the typical rust tones,” Lexi says.

Amber Waves

Brenda Garcia and Brian Grover’s October 21, 2024, wedding was awash in autumnal hues, which they weaved throughout the florals, glassware, and linens at The Hillside Estate. Florist Linda Whitten of Wedfully Yours pulled shades in that upped the dreamy factor of the arrangements. “We focused on warmth and romantic luxury when creating her floral recipe,” she says.

Take It or Leaf It

As a wedding florist, Katy Roden of Branching Out Events loves using seasonal colors in her designs. So she jumped at the chance to incorporate fall foliage into florals for her own wedding to Landon Tujague—with a few surprising blooms and hues for good measure. “A classic fall palette can go a lot of directions,” she says. “We encourage everyone to take a fall palette and make it your own!”

Freshly Squeezed

Colors don’t have to be deep and dark to elicit a feeling of fall. Adri Smith of Moss Floral Design used a citrus palette for Sarah Thomas and Josh Papermaster’s wedding. “The flowers added movement, color, and a sense of effortless charm that perfectly matched the joyful energy of the day,” says the bride.
