Let them take off their shoes when talking about real journalists, who work for international media organisations with a reputation that is immeasurably greater than that of their pathetic i24 channel. Those Palestinian journalists died heroically in the performance of their journalistic duty on the battlefield. “If Israel decides to eliminate the Nukhba journalists, then it’s better late than never,” Yehezkeli welcomed the killing of the journalists, (said to be accidental by Netanyahu and Zamir), as if it were intentional. “Israel did well to eliminate them,” he declared, “and in my opinion, too late.” Yehezkeli justified the elimination of the journalists by saying that they were “providing the world with a back-to-front image.” That is, the truth about the famine and Israeli war crimes in the Gaza Strip. He accused them of legitimising Hamas and causing damage to Israel’s image. His words implied that since Israel is losing to Hamas in the battle for the world’s hearts, the only option it has for victory in this field is to kill the “Nukhba journalists,” who serve as “the spearhead of Hamas’s military wing.” And what will happen to the Israeli journalists who report the truth about Israeli war crimes? In Gaza? What will happen to the Israeli journalists who report the truth about the horror of the famine in Gaza? What is the difference between them and the “ Hamas’ military wing’s spearhead”? What is the difference between these Israeli journalists “Nukhba journalists”? This is how Bin Salman got rid of the journalist Jamal Khashoggi who irritated him in 2018. Who knows, maybe now, that he has realised that the Israeli regime also shares his aversion to irritating journalists, his appetite for normalisation with that regime will increase.
