Thinking of some St Louis Cardinals fair trades

It’s time to dream and warm up to the hot stove. Happy Thanksgiving Eve everyone! I am about to go from fasting to feasting in record time. Although tonight I ate heartily: a bison burger with garlic, seasoning, havarti, stone ground mustard, chipotle mayo, a dash of ketchup, and some sauerkraut. But it will soon be a smorgasbord of your usual Thanksgiving fare when I visit my family with the whole 9 yards: turkey, ham, corn bread casserole, green bean casserole, I am insisting on also making stuffing, and a bunch of pies. Probably some other stuff I’m forgetting! That I will attempt to stuff down my gullet. Please let there be cranberry sauce also.

I missed Thanksgiving last year so I’m extra excited. For my family this holiday is about FOOD, and we are lucky enough to have plenty and some good cooks in the family. I have been working so much paying off some vehicle repair bills that I haven’t had time to eat during the day so I’m ready to go! It’s also my brother’s birthday tomorrow so there will also be a damn cake.

Enough turkey talk, this is a baseball site. But please also talk about Thanksgiving food in the comments. I love it. I’d especially like to hear if your family is doing alternate food, my mother did that one year and just ordered a ton of good Chinese food. I like most types of food, not gonna lie.

So writing about what players are likely to be traded has got me thinking, what are some realistic trades that the Cardinals might be able to pull off? Realistic as far as getting similar value on both sides, not necessarily if the team would even be interested.

Scenario 1: Seattle Mariners trade Bryan Woo to the St Louis Cardinals for Brendan Donovan, JoJo Romero, Jordan Walker, and maybe a fringe prospect thrown in. I feel like adding in Walker you want to add a prospect to the mix because he is sort of a failed prospect and they may play this up in the deal. Adding in a wild card sort of prospect might put them over the top, unless they’re legit interesting in trying to “fix” Jordan Walker. I have no idea if they would be interested in Brendan Donovan, but if they are, then I would like this deal.

Scenario 2: Cleveland Guardians send Parker Messick and Logan Allen to the Cardinals for Donovan. Perhaps we could also acquire a decent prospect from them in the deal. I know the Guardians are interested, something to think about.

Scenario 3: Kansas City Royals trade Noah Cameron and a prospect for Brendan Donovan. We might also be able to get another prospect or player depending on how they value Cameron. Or maybe they wouldn’t even think of trading Noah Cameron.

Scenario 4: NY Yankees trade Carlos Lagrange or Elmer Rodriguez for Brendan Donovan. If the Yankees want Donovan enough, hell maybe they would send both of their top pitching prospects. Another player that could be of interest to the Cardinals is outfielder Spencer Jones, especially if they think he can play center field. Maybe I’m dreaming that we could acquire either of those pitchers. Just throwing some hot stove ideas out there. Heck maybe Chaim Bloom can get Jazz Chisholm Jr and a prospect back in trade, we are about to find out how influential and/or charismatic he is.

Thanks for reading my crazy trade proposals! I know I have thrown some out there already, but here’s a few more. I have trade fever and it won’t relent! Can’t wait to see what happens, but for now enjoy some holiday feasting. Last year I was scheduled to write on some of the major holidays, and this year so happens to coincide with the eves of Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year’s. Hard to believe the year is almost gone yet again.
